Robert Baines

Robert Baines MRICS BSc. (Hons)

Rob has lived in the North West his whole life. He moved to the Greater Manchester area in 2013 to further his career. Having graduated from Coventry University with a Bachelor of Science degree with honours in Building Surveying in 2009, Rob moved back to his home town of Clitheroe, Lancashire to find work.

Graduating at the height of a recession, Rob was lucky enough to find work in Clitheroe as a Topographical Surveyor, before moving on to work within land agency. However, as time went on he became keen to follow the career path he had started at University, so began to look for work further afield. In 2012 he joined IGL Surveying.

At IGL he has been able to add to skills achieved in previous employment/education and gained the additional experience and knowledge required to pass his RICS Assessment of Professional Competence recently in June 2017.  Rob is now a fully qualified RICS Chartered Building Surveyor.

In his personal life, Rob is a bit of a “foodie,” eating out at any opportunity, and sampling as much food as he can. He previously developed a food blog, the Meat Memoirs (http://meatmemoirs.blogspot.co.uk), but regrettably this has been put on hold in recent years to focus his attentions on his career and personal commitments. Rob is also an avid fan of American Football and a keen supporter of the New England Patriots. Rob has an enthusiasm for motor vehicles, and often spends his time maintaining them, especially his beloved classic BMW 3-series.
