Case Studies – Defects

We were approached by the client and asked to undertake an investigation to identify numerous defects to existing town houses & apartments on a development in Knutsford, Cheshire.

The instruction also required us to produce recommendations for remedial works. The remedial works involved balcony & roof repairs and replacement of the external existing larch cladding with new Cedral Weatherboarding. The re-design of waterproofing required involved 3D modelling by IGL to provide solutions to complex detailing situations.

The project involved close site monitoring by IGL to ensure design solutions were being undertaken. This regular monitoring of the works on site also enabled early warning and resolution of further defects that were found in the structure; thus minimising the potential cost to the client.

All works were complete in early 2018 to the satisfaction of the client.
