Chesterfield Town Hall Refurbishment - Phase 1

IGL were appointed for this scheme as a result of their experience in working with Listed Buildings along with our ability to provide additional services such as design when required, without the need for the client to appoint additional specialist consultants.

A pre-commencement contract was undertaken initially to remove asbestos materials from the building prior to commencement of the refurbishment works.

The particular challenges of this scheme was the undertaking of works in a fully occupied Grade 2 Listed Building with multiple restrictions to working hours/practices.

IGL worked with Chesterfield Borough Councils in-house transformation team, using CBC Operational Services Department using a “cost reimbursement” model to deliver the project. IGL’s ability to develop bespoke working practices ensured a successful delivery of the works.

Phase 1 of the project was completed in January 2019 with Phase 2 due to start in December 2019
