Ian Dootson, BSc(Hons), MRICS, Chartered Building Surveyor

Ian hails from a small village on the outskirts of Burnley in East Lancashire but now lives in Chorley. He joined IGL in September 1996 and took up the role of Chartered Building Surveyor. He was later appointed as a Director of IGL in 2003.

Ian’s experience covers all aspects of Building Surveying including building surveys, defects investigation, repair and maintenance, expert witness and dilapidations. His specialism is however flat conversion, house refurbishment and re-modelling with much of this work being undertaken in the North of our region in Preston, Blackpool and Morecambe with clients in the RSL sector.

Much to the dismay of his wife and three girls, Ian spends much of his spare time supporting his beloved home town football club and usually found with a couple of pies and a pint on a Saturday afternoon sitting in the stands at Burnley FC. When frustration with football sets in (as it often does) you may see Ian cycling along the Leeds Liverpool canal or very occasionally ‘off roading’ up one of the many steep hills surrounding Chorley.
